Let us introduce you to el Burundanger. Let us immerse in impure Latin American brutality by the hand and machines of el quiteño Quixosis. This penetrating EP is an exercise that explores the ritualistic tone of a total loss of the ego, a harsh reaction, and a torrent of emotions that end up flowing into fury, chaos, and trance on a collective level. The name of the EP refers to ‘Burundanga’, which is extracted from the Borrachero, a tree that absorbs dark energy and neutralises it. This seed is used in shamanic rituals in the Andean region and as a drug to rob people leaving them in a half-awake state.

But these raw, saturated excursions on the Dave Smith Tempest are also an ode to destruction and its full creative power. The release comes accompanied with remixes by Bristol prodigy duo Cando, French sound visionary Flore, and the king of wormhole techno, Mike Parker - all of whom further disintegrate the original versions to make way for the genesis of new burundanga-laden sonic sedatives.
